Auchen Castle Hotel 

This original Scottish Castle dates back to 1220 and was probably built by Sir Humphrey de Kirkpatrick when he was Senestal of Annandale. The original Castle is now in ruins next to what was the home farm for the next Auchen Castle built by General Johnstone in 1849. Set on 34 acres of formal gardens and woodland, Auchen Castle today retains many of its original period features. This 4 star hotel has 25 bedrooms. Of these rooms, 15 are situated within the original castle. These rooms have Champagne stocked mini bars, wide screen televisions and some have four poster beds.
